Jim has over two decades of strategy, commercial-excellence, and capability-building experience.  He has a proven track record of driving revenue and earnings in both private equity portfolio companies and publicly traded companies.

Prior to joining SBI, Jim led his own boutique advisory firm, the Sutton Growth Group, and has prior consulting experience from his years at McKinsey & Company and Blue Ridge Partners.  He has executive and operating experience from his years at GE, Avery Dennison, and Staples.  Jim was also a deal professional at Morgenthaler Partners, a middle-market PE firm.


Jim earned his BBA in Operations Management from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
